Jim Cuddy, Neon Dreams, Matthew Good & More to Play Holiday Special to Raise Urgently-Needed Money for the Unison Benevolent Fund

Just announced, Canada’s beloved artist community will come together with the Unison Benevolent Fund – an assistance program that provides discreet relief to music industry professionals in times of crisis – to host Canada In Unison Holiday Special: In Concert – a virtual concert celebration in support of the Canadian music and entertainment industry on Sessions Live. It will take place on Thursday, Dec. 17, 2020 beginning at 8 p.m. ET.

Featuring Iskwe + Tom Wilson, Jim Cuddy, July Talk, Matthew Good, members of Mother Mother, Neon Dreams, Ruth B., Sam Roberts Band, Sarah Harmer, Scott Helman, Tim Hicks, The Glorious Sons, Tom Jackson, and more, the virtual event that includes elements of both live and newly pre-recorded performances, will draw attention to the increased demand and urgency to support the Canadian music industry during this difficult time as their need for support substantially increases with so many music people out of work and in-need due to the pandemic.

Since the beginning of the global pandemic, the request for Unison’s services has increased by a staggering 5,500% with over $1.2-million in funds already allocated and paid to support over 2,200 entertainment professionals in Canada and the need for support continues to grow at a steadfast rate.

With venues, tours, and festivals shut down and indefinitely paused due to COVID-19, those in the music industry who rely on the live business for revenue have been severely impacted, leaving numerous entertainment professionals out of work and requiring the emergency relief assistance that Unison provides.

"As requests for help continue to increase substantially and we head into the winter months, the Unison Benevolent Fund hopes that it can continue to raise the much-needed funds to ensure stability and resiliency in the Canadian music industry over the course of this pandemic and beyond,” says Bernie Breen, chair of the Board of Directors for the Unison Benevolent Fund. “We are extremely grateful to the artist participants and everyone that has supported us over the years and during these challenging times.”

Tickets for the event are $30 (taxes included) and can now be purchased at

All proceeds and donations collected from the Canada In Unison Holiday Special: In Concert will support the Unison Benevolent Fund – amplifying their efforts and focus on helping those most in need.
