The Tragically Hip's 'Courage Masks' Raise $40K for Unison Benevolent Fund

The Unison Benevolent Fund – the country’s leading music industry charity, providing counselling and emergency relief services to the Canadian music community – is publicly thanking The Tragically Hip for their donation of over $40,000 (and counting) from the sale of their Courage Masks to Unison’s Financial Assistance program.

The reusable non-medial cloth masks are still available for purchase HERE.

“We want to thank to all of you who have bought Courage masks to support the Unison Benevolent Fund,” says iconic Canadian band. “With your help, we have raised over $40,000 so far to provide ongoing emergency financial relief for musicians and crew members during the COVID pandemic. Until we are through this, please continue to follow the guidance of public health officials. Stay safe, wear a mask and continue to support the Unison Benevolent Fund.”

In 2020, due to the pandemic's horrible impact on the music industry, Unison has seen a 29% increase in demand for counselling services, and a 61% increase in urgent mental health crisis intervention cases.

Unison says it's eternally grateful for the ongoing support of all donors, and adds that no donation is too small any amount will be greatly appreciated and will go a long way towards helping Unison care for the Canadian music community during this difficult and rapidly changing situation.
