KoSA Music Announces 2 Different Trips to Cuba in 2020

KoSA Music, the Montreal-based percussion academy and organizer of international percussion workshops, is celebrating its 25th anniversary in 2020. As such, KoSA has added an additional Cuban event to its popular workshop series. For the past 18 years, KoSA Music has been organizing intensive study programs for North American percussionists in Havana, Cuba. Now, the organization has announced that it will host two trips to Cuba in 2020, one to Havana and the other to Matanzas.

KoSA Havana will take place from March 22-29, 2020. Participating percussionists, who can be of all ages and skill levels, will take part in a one-week study program including activities and concerts of the Havana Rhythm and Dance Festival. Individuals and performing groups are welcome. There will be intensive hands-on daily classes with major Cuban artists, concerts, lectures, and historical and cultural visits. All instruments are supplied on site.

A new addition to the KoSA calendar, the Kosa Cuba & Matanzas Jazz Festival will take place from April 29th to May 6th, 2020. Participants will get an all-access pass to the Matanzas Jazz Festival. There will also be hands-on classes with renown Cuban artists, including members of the Los Moniquitos de Matanzas. Again, all instruments will be provided to be used in the music seminars. There will be nightly concerts to take in and university credits are available.

Other KoSA Music workshops happening in 2020 include:

  • KoSA Drum Camp Montreal - June 22-27,2020
  • KoSA Italy - July, 2020
  • KoSA China - August, 2020
