Ken Lewis, Gary Noble, Bijan Amir & More Announced for IMSTA FESTA Toronto

The keynote speaker and a number of other events and details have been announced for the IMSTA FESTA Toronto event taking place this Saturday, Oct. 13, at Ryerson University's Rogers Communications Centre (80 Gould St.). IMSTA FESTA is a free event open to everyone in the music making community including professional and semi-professional musicians, songwriters, music producers, and audio engineers, as well as music students and educators.

At noon, Ken Lewis will be the keynote speaker. Lewis has been at the top of the music business for years as a producer, songwriter, mix engineer, and Musician. His credits include 12 Grammy wins and 40 total nominations, 71 gold and platinum albums and singles, and 56 number one records. He has worked with such luminaries as Eminem, Jay-Z, Kanye West, Drake, Alicia Keys, Bruno Mars, Ariana Grande, and many others. His keynote which will detail his studio and writing experience.

IMSTA will also present the first Canadian appearance of legendary mixing engineer Gary Noble, who is the man behind the sound of Amy Winehouse. Gary will give a two-hour dissection of how he mixes these classic hit records and specifically about his time working with Winehouse.

As well, the Songwriters Association of Canada (SAC) has as assembled some of the most experienced managers in Canada for an important panel discussion of the topic of Managers in the Music Business.

At 3 p.m., Canadian Musician magazine publisher and NWC President Jim Norris will present the "Develop a Kick-Ass Career Plan" seminar. Whether you are a musician, songwriter, producer or business owner, you will find this session essential to your success. To get from where you are today to where you want to be in the future, you need a well-developed career plan. Norris will teach attendees how to set and achieve goals and how to keep themselves motivated and deal with setbacks and disappointment.

IMSTA and SOCAN will host young artist, producer, and beat maker Bijan Amir for the Cooking Beats session at 5 p.m. Amir has created hits with the likes of Metro Boomin, Travis Scott, and others. Attendees will see and hear how this master beat maker cooks up a beat in FL Studio. Space is limited and registration is now open HERE.
