Honey Jam Delivers Another Highlight-Filled Showcase for 2019

The 2019 Honey Jam Concert was held at Toronto's Mod Club on Thurs., Aug. 22nd, showcasing a number of female performers selected through an earlier auditioning process. CBC personality Amanda Parris was the evening's host.

Honey Jam was founded in 1995 in response to the lack of opportunities for exposure and promotion given to female performers, as well as the lack of female representation on the business side of the industry - particularly in urban music.

Artists that took part in this year's edition included: Aida, Sagèlee Archer, Rachel Cousins, Getchnah, Kris Goslin, Jäjé, Melissa Kadas, Jess Leung, Divine Lightbody, Grace Marr, Angela Nethersole, Nya, Aria Ohlsson, Leigh Phillips, Denille Reeves, Saveria, T.NA Smith, Hayley Verrall, Riley Wheater, and Erez Zobary

All of the artists chosen to perform will benefit from opportunities including a music industry workshop at Harris Institute, one-on-one vocal and performance coaching, having their original songs played on radio, and more.

Plus, some showcasing artists were awarded special prizes and additional career opportunities, such as Sagèlee winning $5,000 in equiupment from Yahama Canada Music and Grace Marr winning professional studio time from Slaight Music.
