The 26th Honey Jam Artist Showcase fostering Canadian female artists of all genres and cultures kicks off its 2021 season with auditions on Tuesday, June 8th at 5 p.m. at the El Mocambo in Toronto. Auditions are open to female artists across Canada between the ages of 14 and 25. This year’s event will be a hybrid of in-person and livestream to accommodate individuals outside of Ontario. The in-person auditions will comply with provincial and Health Canada COVID-19 protocols.
“Honey Jam is an all female multicultural multi-genre artist showcase produced by PhemPhat Entertainment Group,” explains founder Ebonnie Rowe. “Since 1995, we have fostered the growth, education and promotion of women in all aspects of the music business.”
Along with the showcase set for Thursday, Aug. 12, 2021 at the El Mocambo, Honey Jam offers participating artists vocal and performance coaching, mentoring from industry professionals, networking opportunities, and exposure for their talents.
Over the years, hundreds of artists have played to hyped and capacity crowds including Lu Kala, Haviah Mighty, Jordan Alexander, Saveria, Tika, Nelly Furtado, Jully Black, Michie Mee, Andrea Lewis, Melanie Fiona and Kellylee Evans.
