Dallas Smith's Local Hay Management & Nashville-Based Big Loud Records Announce New Canadian Record Label & Management Company

Nashville-based Big Loud Records and Dallas Smith's Local Hay Management, Inc. have announce that together they are launching a joint venture record label and management company in Canada. The partnership between the American independent record label Big Loud — founded by Craig Wiseman, Joey Moi, Kevin ‘Chief’ Zaruk, and Seth England — along with Local Hay, headed by multi-platinum Canadian country star Dallas Smith and producer Scott Cooke is focused on "cultivating emerging, dynamic music talent using innovative approaches to artist development and services," according to the companies.

“Canada has a long history of generating authentic, international, breakthrough artists and their music fans are second to none,” says Big Loud Co-Founder Kevin Zaruk. “It is absolutely natural for us to collaborate in true partnership with Dallas and Scott (Local Hay) with a vision to build artists' careers, their reach and familiarity, while making exciting new contributions to music culture around the world.”

“We are thrilled to be partnering with the team at Big Loud on this new label and management company,” adds Smith. “In an ever-changing musical landscape that has more than ever before become an industry without borders, it’s simply an extension of what we do and it’s exciting to be part of a forward-thinking venture.”

The primary purpose of the yet to be named Canadian record and management company will be to sign Canadian recording artists to exclusive worldwide recording agreements. Big Loud says the move demonstrates its commitment to the fast-growing Canadian market coupled with Local Hay’s ability to discover and generate top talent.

Additional details and information about the joint venture will be revealed in the coming weeks.
