Western Canada’s annual music industry conference and showcase festival, BreakOut West, is heading to Whitehorse, YT from Oct. 2-6, 2019. It’ll feature a four-day music industry conference with a mix of educational sessions for both musicians and industry professionals, as well as a large festival with more than 55 showcasing bands and the annual Western Canadian Music Awards.
BreakOut West says it’s organizing a “value-centric” conference, bringing together Canadian and international industry delegates with Canadian artists for panels and workshops that will provide workable solutions for growth beyond the region. Among those announced so far are sessions on tour strategies, activating alternative revenue streams, live A&R with music supervisors, and DIY versus traditional label releases. In total, there will be more than 20 panels, workshops, and sessions at the conference.
