#CMPremiere - Billy Wild's "The Waves" Video

Toronto-based artist and producer Billy Wild has been on a traction-gaining tear of late. He's fresh from the release of his latest EP, the energetic indie/rock-focused Little Fux, and we're bringing you a first look at the stylish, vintage-tinged new video for "The Waves" in this exclusive #CMPremiere.

"For the last three years or so, I’ve been collecting Life magazines, to the point where it’s kind of been an unhealthy obsession," Wild shares about the treatment for "The Waves." "I always found the cigarette ads awesome in how unashamedly sexiest and misleading they were. The concept of creating a fake cigarette ad campaign came when I brought in director Ayush Anand to help me find a way use the Life aesthetic in a music video. I had already shot the footage of the model; he came up with the idea to make the narrative of the video about a girl whose dream it was to be a cigarette spokeswoman and flip the sexiest ads of the '50s and '60s in favour of the woman."

Little Fux is the follow-up to Wild's 2018 LP, All Nighters. After seven years of producing hip-hop and electronic music, the lead singer/producer teamed up with his high-school bandmate, Jon Hyde, to create a gritty mix of rockabilly, doo-wop, and straight-up rock.

The collection is currently available across all major streaming platforms.
