Funeral Service for Deane Cameron Being Held Friday at Roy Thomson Hall

A funeral service will be held this Friday, May 24, at Roy Thomson Hall in Toronto for Deane Cameron, a pillar of the Canadian music industry who sadly passed away on Thursday.

Cameron was affectionately known as “Captain Canada" for the many hats he wore in the Canadian music industry and his tireless promotion of Canadian artists. He was the president and CEO of Roy Thomson Hall and Massey Hall Corporation, past president of EMI Music Canada, drummer in Harvest with Tom Cochrane, and a Walt Grealis Juno Award recipient.

Cameron passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, May 16, 2019 at the age of 65. He is the beloved husband of Cristina Martinez Cameron. Loving brother of Leslie and her husband Jim MacKenzie. Loving uncle of Cameron, Kailin, and great uncle of Aidan, Josh and Malcolm. Dear son-in-law of Josefina (Mamita); and brother-in-law of Josefina (Pine), and Alejandra. Deane will be sadly missed by Axel and Alexis, Chris and Eric, extended family in Mexico and friends.

Friends may call at Turner & Porter Yorke Chapel, 2357 Bloor Street W., at Windermere Ave. (east of the Jane subway) on Wednesday and Thursday from 2 - 4 p.m. and 6 - 9 p.m. Funeral Service will be held at Roy Thomson Hall, 60 Simcoe St., Toronto on Friday, May 24, 2019 at 2 p.m.
