Plenty on Offer for Music Educators & Students at The 2020 NAMM Show

Though the NAMM Show, held each January in Anaheim, CA, is focused on dealers and manufacturers from the music and entertainment products industries, the organization has long put an emphasis on welcoming and serving college music students and educators. So, for the upcoming show, happening Jan. 16-19, NAMM organizers have announced the return of its Music Education Days and GenNext programming.

Music Education Days

NAMM’s Music Education Days program offers music teachers and school administrators informative sessions, performances, and the opportunity to preview the latest instruments, products, and tools relevant to today’s music classrooms.

Music Education Days at The NAMM Show will feature:

Grand Rally for Music Education
The annual Grand Rally for Music Education provides thoughtful discussion and inspiring performances for the industry’s salute to music education.

College Music Society/GenNext Sessions
Sessions for students to explore careers in the music industry, networking events for faculty, and special events catered to the college music crowd.

Careers in Music Summit
Attendees can learn how to have a successful career in the music industry with special sesisons hosted by NAMM President and CEO Joe Lamond.

The NAMM Foundation Celebration for Music Education
Gather on the NAMM Yamaha Grand Plaza for a concert to kick off The NAMM Show with special guests.

Music Educator Showcases
A series of five-minute, lightning-speed segments provide information about innovative music education tools, non-profit music programs, and best practices from the classroom.

GenNext is a collaboration between The NAMM Foundation and The College Music Society that brings college music students and faculty to The NAMM Show for exclusive programming with access to career and professional development opportunities.

At The NAMM Show, college music students and faculty members have the opportunity to discover new products and innovations from more than 7,000 brands, learn new skills from 400-plus educational sessions, and connect with industry leaders at over 150 networking events. GenNext attendees also have access to The College Music Society (CMS) programming curated specifically for students working toward a career in music business.
