15 More Canadian Artists Added to SXSW 2019 Lineup

South by Southwest (SXSW) has announced an additional 240+ showcasing artists who will perform the 2019 SXSW Music Festival from March 11-17, 2019. To see the first round of announced showcasing artists, go here.

There are 15 Canadian acts added to the SXSW lineup in the latest round of showcase announcements. They are: Chastity (Whitby, ON); Construction & Destruction (Port Greville, NS); Dead Soft (Vancouver); DJ Rosegold (Toronto); Goodbye Honolulu (Toronto); Graham Van Pelt (Toronto); In Mirrors (Vancouver); Joel Eel (Toronto); Living Hour (Winnipeg, MB); MUNYA (Saguenay, QC); Murray A. Lightburn (Montreal); Royal Canoe (Winnipeg, MB); The Sick Things (Montreal); Tallies (Toronto); and Taylor Janzen (Winnipeg, MB).

The second round of artists also includes 4AD’s experimental indie-rockers Deerhunter, Nigerian afrobeat star Mr. Eazi, 2018 Mercury Prize nominees Nadine Shah and Novelist, and buzzy Mexican rap group AQUIHAYAQUIHAY. Also joining the list are Chicago R&B duo DRAMA, Berlin-based garage pop duo Gurr, Northern Irish singer-songwriter Jealous of the Birds, and U.K.-based space funk act The Comet is Coming.

This fall, SXSW announced a keynote conversation between Shirley Manson (Garbage) and Lauren Mayberry (CHVRCHES), Featured Speakers Amanda Palmer and Ross Golan, and 600+ conference sessions. SXSW also recently announced its latest round of keynotes and featured speakers including Music Tracks Featured Speakers Lance Bass, Laura Jane Grace, SoundCloud CEO Kerry Trainor, and Chris Lee, Head of A&R at K-pop behemoth SM Entertainment.
